What is the Hydrostripping process?

Hydrostripping is a breakthrough in the recycling of aluminum road signs that will help you clean up storage problems and get back perfectly clean sign blanks that are ready for re-lamination. The surface is clean and smooth, in prime condition to form a flawless bond...there's nothing more for you to do.

How it all works

After several years of research and development, engineers finally designed a recycling solution for any used aluminum sign. They employed an overhead gantry and shuttle table system – (describe what that is). It is driven by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), which moves a unique water head across the signs. From the head is forced a stream of water 36,000 pounds per square inch, literally blasting laminates into small fragments while leaving the underlying aluminum surface clean and smooth.

Environmentally Friendly

Not only does recycling all this aluminum help the environment, but it is an environmentally safe in itself. The process uses 36,000 psi water pressure –WATER ONLY. There are no chemicals or abrasives to be concerned about.

Particles of laminate blasted from the sign blank are drawn by vacuum to a container for proper disposal. Excess water is filtered and recycled for additional use. Analysis of solids allows for totally safe, non-hazardous disposal

Savings Add Up Fast

The Hydrostripping Process!

Our versatile X-Y table is computer-controlled for precise removal of all laminates. Alternating tables make the process fast and clean.
Every scrap of old laminate material is blasted away from the underlying blank by ultra-high pressure water.
Next, the scrap laminate is carried away by a vacuum hose that empties into a specially-designed waste handler to separate the water and laminates for environmentally-safe disposal. We give your blanks a final cleaning. This leaves a rack of material ready for banding, palletizing and shipping back to your location.  FAST, CLEAN, ECONOMICAL.
